If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks before you travel – as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
- Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Antenatal patients are routinely seen at regular intervals throughout their pregnancy during normal surgery hours by appointment.
Postnatal examinations are carried out by the practice nurse together with the baby examination which is carried out by the doctor.

We have a nurse specialist in respiratory care. Our specialist’s clinics are called COPD clinics and are held weekly to include lung function testing and further management of respiratory problems.

All patients receiving treatment for asthma, or symptomatic, should be seen annually by the nurse.

All patients over the age of 75 are invited to attend the doctor or nurse for a medication review.
Any patient with a heart condition will be reviewed annually in a nurse-led clinic, in order to monitor symptoms and medication.
Cervical smear tests are advised every three years for women aged 25 to the age of 65 years and are carried out by any of our practice nurses.
